Every age has its fashionistas and this rare book, published in 1858, is about the leading ladies of the Victorian era in England. It is a long rhyming poem of humor, romance and insight about all the traumas of having "nothing to wear". It was written by a thoroughly perplexed suitor trying to figure it out -- and there is a moral to his story. I was delighted to have found this book, with its hand illustrated illustrations of distraught damsels, at the Antiquarian Book Fair in San Francsico many years ago and I know you will treasure it too. It is small, 34 pages, bound with a velvet ribbon and makes the most perfect gift for a fashion friend this season.
