This is an excellent quality light weight paper with light blue grid lines in 1 inch blocks.  It is used in pattern design in several different ways, especially to enlarge small and half scale patterns accurately.  In the accompanying downoad there are detailed instructions on how to enlarge using the paper. 

Grid paper is perfect for those who draft or create the moulage since, for that method, a grid is the core starting point.  The paper is also valuable when working in the flat pattern method since it will keep you aware of grain changes as the pattern is manipulated and you can then use that information to plan out your fabric effects.  Another great application for the paper is when transferring a muslin toile pattern, the result of draping a design, to paper.  If you trace off the muslin to this grid paper you will have a more accurate and more balanced pattern with which to test your design.  Getting it in roll form makes it easy to develop larger patterns without a break.
