DVD - The Art of Jacket Cutting by Martin Shoben

This DVD contains the key lesson series from Shoben which fully explains the use of his Fashion Curve and then goes on to show how to draft a jacket pattern in great detail, including the mysteries of the collar stand and the sleeve pitch and their adjustments for better fit.  The approach is from the standpoint of tailoring and can be appropriate for either men's or women's jackets.  Mr. Shoben works from a sample on the dress form and moves back and forth from the flat pattern on the table to toile on the form so you can see the relationship between the 2-D and 3-D development of the pattern. 

If you have a passion for tailored clothing or want to focus on men's tailoring, this DVD will be very helpful and instructional.  The lessons are reflected in the accompanying book, Pattern Cutting & Making Up Vol 2, that also has lots more examples and applications of the lessons.  If you start with the Shoben Fashion Curve and the full size Block Patterns, rather than drafting your own, the project will go quickly and efficiently.
