Zarapkar System of Cutting
This book is little known in the US but a staple of flat pattern making in India (post-Raj) so it has a wonderful and very useful combination of Indian national dress jackets, dresses, pants and all the 'saree' blouses along with proper British frocks, men's coats (including corpulent), slacks and a dressing gown -- like Cary Grant or George Clooney in the movies. It also includes children's styles! The book is packed with lots of sleeve and collar styles and it also has a basic block pattern for Kameez with variations -- it's a like a street length tunic with inserts and yokes -- very flattering. One of the best things is an ingenious way of cutting bias Chudidar pants (the Indian ones that are skinny on the calves) from a bias bag. This is a drafting book which means that you are working from custom measurements but the drafting instructions are of the quicker variety with good diagrams for speedy pattern making.
