Style Tape  --  as seen on Project Runway!

Style tape is a core tool for draping.  In order to drape the garment on the dress form, the pattern designer places the adhesive backed tape onto the form where the style lines of the garment will be.  The style lines consist of the edges of the garment, the neckline, seams and/or decorative details.  The style tape can be seen through the muslin and the design is being draped and guides the designer to cut or manipulate the fabric in the right place. This tape is black and white for easy visibility, 1/8" wide, goes around curves easily and has been used on the Project Runway design show.
