This is a double disc DVD of archival sesssions recorded at the pattern studios of the London Centre For Fashion Studies in 1992. The two videos show many very specific techniques about draping from one of London's best, Lily Siberberg, and they take the viewer through from beginning to advanced.
Disc 1: Leading practitioner Lily Silberberg demonstrates how to achieve the perfect fit by draping bodice, sleeve and skirt block patterns. This the draping of the basic dress slopers (blocks), concentrating on fit and balance. Running time 95 minutes
Disc 2: Building on the skills of Disc 1, Lily Silberberg demonstrates how to model a flared skirt, an asymmetric draped skirt with waterfall and a cowl neckline - plus dart manipulation. This disk shows many of the most advanced design techniques. Ms. Siberberg shows in great detail how and why the design must take shape in a certain sequence and what you must be cognizant of while working -- you get the wisdom of a pro!
