Downton Abbey Designs!

Posted on March 03, 2013 by Sandy Ericson

Downton Abbey has given us all a feast for the eyes and a new reason to consider the elegant clothes of the 1920's and 1930's (next season) for our own closets. The designs of that period were streamlined and still today are some of the most avant garde clothing ever designed.  They were easy to wear, did not demand the physical restrictions of the eras before and after and they were easy to cut and sew. To try them out, check the book section for Draping and Designing With Scissors and Cloth, 1920's and 1930's, two books on how to create the exquisite fashions of the most beautiful women of the time.
