This one was irresistible, a favorite inspiration from the Balenciaga show, with a notable pedigree in the annuals of American pattern companies.  However, it was always done in the true short bolero length or sleeveless -- good but just not enough jacket -- it needed more length and longer sleeves. It has the marvelous visual illusion of looking like a folded circle but actually the front extends and folds over all the way to the shoulder seam of the cape collar.  The 3/4 sleeves end at the hem and it may be cut long for a swing coat. It looks great in a reversible fabric like the model or would also work in a sheer to show the layers or could be lined with a different color or texture to dramatize the folded circle effect.  It has only 4 pieces.
